NEWS  Port of Balboa, Phase IV Expansion, Marine Works 1

The Consortium IMI – CIMS (Intercoastal Marine, Inc. and Boskalis Dredging) has been awarded a $65 million contract by Panama Ports Company for the Port of Balboa, Phase IV Development, Marine Works 1, a Hutchinson Port Holdings development. This project entails dredging and reclamation of the area behind existing Berths 16 and 17. The reclaimed land to be used for a container stacking area will be contained by a rock bund wall and connected to the existing berths via a 24 meter wide link structure. Project completion is scheduled for November, 2008.
